More Coaching

I just finished my 2nd session with my first of 3 Allies or Clients today.
We looked at how her last week had gone, talked about her experience with the 100 Things I Love to Do List and Her 50 Things I Loved To Do As a Kid.
Then we looked at the coming week at the small but significant steps she wanted to take to work on her goals.

Coaching is a great way to discover and uncover what you want to do and begin to work on a plan to actually accomplish those things.
We use a model that Helps You Discover and Clairfy, Create a Best Guess Plan of what might work, Remember why you want to do what you want to do, and experiement with your plan,  then we celebrate what is working and adjust what is not.

Its all at your speed, working on what you want to work on.
I have great tools to help you with every step.

Let me know if you are interested in discussing how this might work for you.  I am ready at this point to add what we call Allies (clients), because it is a working partnership to help move you forward toward reaching your goals and dreams.

The following are some of my comments that I posted in the Life Coach Training forum along with the personal responses from Mitch the co-founder of The Coach Mindset.

Margot said: I scheduled my first “real” coaching session yesterday. Yikes!! We are doing her complementary session this Tuesday and her first paid session the following week. I admit I feel a little nervous and I’m hoping I can keep all the great training and tools in my head and pull it out of my coach hat at the right time. Part of me wants to fast forward to make sure I have all the right forms and everything in place but I am realizing this is going to have to be a “grow as I go” kind of thing. She knows I am still in training and I told her that as I learned more I would just get better and better. I told her to be thinking about the things she might want to work on over the next 3 to 6 months. I told her don’t limit yourself – its ok to brainstorm. So I have a starting place and I am excited to be able to test things out.
Mitch said: Congratulations Margot! We’re excited for you AND your ally! This is great!
And hey… you’re going to do great! We can’t wait to hear the success stories.
Enjoy the journey and let us know how it goes!
You’re a natural!

Magot said: Hi Mitch , Wanted to let you know my 1st coaching appointment went great. My mind map was pretty messy but good enough to be able to come home and clean it up to send her a summary that I did by hand, scanned and e-mailed to her. We were able to determine that her Big goal is to go to Israel and work in soup kitchens and help the poor for about 3 months. She had lots and lots of great ideas but struggles to find a plan to get them done. She was delighted with the coaching approach. I got a client agreement and client profile form made. I may modify it as I learn more but its something to start with. Anyway the whole thing felt great – I was able to explain the coaching model and how the intellectual immune system works. I have to say that this training has been excellent and I was able to walk into that first meeting with confidence.
My Pastor was talking to me about a program that he is working on getting grant funding, for working with folks in recovery. He asked if I would be interested in life coaching in that situation. I said sure but I just can’t do it for free – I’m out of volunteer time to be able to do any more. It was good to be able to say that and to know that what I have to offer is valuable.
All that to say that I am delighted with this training and how fast and well it is preparing me to be an excellent coach.
Thanks, Margot

The first coaching conversation… the first mind map… you owning the concepts… and you also knowing that the service you are providing is worth paying for!! That’s awesome and I’m both proud of you and excited for you! Keep up the great work! You’re going to bless people’s socks off!
